One Day for UNK brings the Loper community – past, present and future – together for 24 hours of supporting our campus. While it’s just one day, its impact stretches to the everyday Loper life.

On behalf of us students, the staff, faculty and administration at UNK, we wanted to take the time to extend our gratitude. To those who supported through One Day at UNK and those who show support in other ways, thank you.
It doesn’t go unnoticed to us students.
It’s the fifth year of One Day for UNK, and the support hasn’t slowed down at all. This year’s event ended with the largest amount of money donated to date, raising over $100,000 more than in 2024.
We have never doubted the UNK community’s support for us, and the results of One Day for UNK just prove how far that support goes.
UNK and the rest of the Nebraska University system are in the midst of a budget deficit. Financial support, wherever given, says a lot, especially now. In challenging times, it means a lot to see others willing and eager to give to our University – our programs, our teams and our organizations.
While there will always be challenges, One Day for UNK has shown that our community’s support is also unwavering.
The Department of Communication, where a lot of our newspaper staff’s majors are based, received almost $5,000 in donations. Donors gave over $300 to The Antelope as well.
Our department and newspaper are special to us and have had a big impact on our lives. It is clear that it means a lot to others also, and we are grateful for those who play a part in our department’s running.
UNK wouldn’t be the university we know if it weren’t for those who support us. Our campus thrives not just because of the work of those of us on campus, but even more so because of those who play a part from off campus.
Being a part of One Day for UNK is easy for campus organizations. Rather than having to plan, prepare and execute a fundraiser, organizations are able to benefit from One Day from UNK with minimal effort on their part. The event makes fundraising a viable option for campus organizations, departments and teams. We appreciate the simplicity that comes with being a part of One Day for UNK.
The event is also organized in a way that makes it easy to give, whether that be to a specific organization or to a general fund. Matching gifts and donations also added to the day’s excitement and momentum. Over $230,000 of matching donations were secured before the event’s start, starting One Day for UNK off strong.
Five years of UNK’s giving day is an exciting milestone, and we are proud to be a part of a university like ours. Thank you to those who have shown their support through these last five years of One Day for UNK and those who continue to show up for the place we call home.
