Making spring break plans on a budget

You’re working your butt off at your part time job while going to school and just need a break. Don’t worry, just because you have to work hard doesn’t mean that you aren’t allowed to play hard too, even on a ramen noodles budget.

A few amazing places to get sun and sand, while sticking to a college budget are places like Daytona, Florida, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina or the infamous South Padre Island, Texas. Airbnb’s run as cheap as $99 per night. Head down to the beach stay in a pretty basic place for less than $100 per night.

After deciding on a locaion, the next step is to plan a budget, and actually stick to it. Identify the big ticket items, such as travel expenses like airfare or gas.

The quickest and easiest way to fly from point A to point B, is utilizing apps or websites like Skyscanner to see the cheapest flights and dates to travel in the month. Skyscanner shows prices for round trip tickets through any airline and how many stops it’ll make.

Next, it would be helpful to predict secondary expenses that the trip may require. This can include costs of meals, sales tax, Uber trips, gas and any extra costs. I suggest that students start saving as soon as possible. Hopefully, this article will provide students with the ideas they need to plan ahead for their break.

To cut down on costs, split the funds needed for Uber trips, hotels or Airbnbs. It may assist travellers to  download apps like Venmo by Paypal that allow users to conveniently exchange money from their bank accounts in order to immediately pay friends their portion of expenses.

Plan for extra activities during Spring Break such as laying out on the beach, swimming in the ocean, or chilling on the patio. This trip is an opportunity for travellers to you want to do participate in things that they have never experienced before.

Whether that is going to a local diner or taking a trip to watch dolphins, take into consideration the expenses of tickets that may be necessary for boat rides out to see majestic creatures or explore the ocean.

Whatever the Spring Break  of the 2020 school year brings, students should enjoy their vacation away from school. UNK will be here waiting for the students.
