Last year, many campus events were shut down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic response. The Big Event, a flagship community service days for students to ge into the Kearney community and volunteer, was one of the events cancelled.
After its successful first season, the Food Network plans on renewing its new show, “Baking and Entering with Tina Fey.” The program, which seeks to observe the diversity of American life through culinary creation, plans to host its contestants at UNK during the spring 2021 semester.
The UNK Office of Student Diversity & Inclusion hosted a seminar with spoken word poet, playwright and diversity activist Alexandria Gurley. Alex Tha Great’s seminar was titled “Follow the Leader: Recognizing Our Ancestors, Forging Our Own Paths.”
The University of Nebraska system will be transferring data storage software services this spring. UNK will be switching from Box to OneDrive storage due to price increases on Box software licenses.
After opening in Kearney at the end of last year, D.P. Dough specializes in calzones, wings and other delicious dishes. The restaurant franchise began in the 1980s with a business model specifically geared toward college students.
UNK’s Study Abroad Program is traveling to the Czech Republic next May following almost a year of travel restrictions that forced the program to cancel its trips. For the students who still want to travel, this will provide an opportunity to journey out of the country with UNK.
