UNK’s Art Department has gained a new chair, Derrick Burbul, a professor of Art and Design Foundations and Photography. Burbul took office at the beginning of the fall semester.

With the construction of new buildings around campus, many artistic opportunities to incorporate murals on campus are being explored. Professors from the art department at UNK are spearheading one effort to improve campus beauty.

In the most contested political season in recent memory, tensions rose and spilled into the world beyond national television. In the art wing hallway inside the Fine Arts Building, that struggle was at the forefront of a dialogue about politics, vandalism and the nature of art between individual students and faculty alike.
