The Cellar, a local sports bar, reopened its doors in July at its original location established in 1978. It is located at 3901 2nd Ave, near the southwest corner of the Hobby Lobby parking lot.
The Cellar’s entrance presents a patio that is available for customers to dine outside. The atmosphere outside was simple and modern. There was plenty of room for groups to eat and two TVs were mounted for entertainment.
The same modern renovations followed inside as well. It was an open space with more of a sports bar atmosphere. There are numerous TVs for consumers to watch various sports channels.
The menu offers many sports bar staples such as pizza, wings, burgers, salads, sandwiches and appetizers. I was most interested in trying the signature onion rings that are made with the same secret recipe as the original restaurant.
The signature onion rings were located in the appetizer section on the menu and cost $13. Upon receiving them, I expected more food for the price, but in the end, the taste outweighed the cost.
The onion rings were crispy and held a unique flavor in the breading and the onion. They also provided their signature ranch dressing, which added to its flavor profile making it sweet and savory. I agree that they remain true to the original recipe.
I wanted to try a new item on their menu titled the Billion $ Bacon. This appetizer is bourbon candied bacon with pretzel balls. Unfortunately, that item was unavailable because their machine to cook them was down. I plan to try that the next time I visit.
The Cellar is the perfect fit for customers to watch sporting events, go on a date, or catch up with friends and family. The customer service was welcoming and provided excellent service considering the large amount of customers there.
The Cellar is great for large or small groups of all ages. It fulfills the sports bar atmosphere but is spacious for each table to hold a conversation. All of the meal prices are below $20 and the menu offers many different types of entrees to try.
I would say they have already grown a customer base for the business just starting up. I recommend anyone to visit The Cellar to enjoy the food, atmosphere and customer service.
