Christopher Martin, a UNK student was arrested by the Kearney Police Department. The 21-year-old faces charges of two counts of first-degree sexual assault, as reported by the Kearney Police Department.
Martin, a senior in the Industrial Distribution program, was taken into custody at an on-campus residence hall. The arrest was made on Aug. 21, 2023, at 4:15 a.m.
Todd Gottula, senior director of marketing and communications at UNK, said the university is aware of the incident and the student conduct group is reviewing the incident.
The incident reportedly occurred off campus, and the Kearney Police Department is handling all inquiries and information regarding the specifics of the case.
Christopher Martin remains enrolled as a student at UNK. Gottula emphasized that any updates or clarifications related to the case should be sought directly from the Kearney Police Department.
Martin’s bond has been set at $10,000. A court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 20 to address the charges and proceedings.
