UNK Election Commission announced the results of the 2019 Student Government Election in the atrium of the Nebraskan Student Union to a crowd of students and faculty. A total of 1,169 votes were cast for Student Body President and Vice President, a slightly lower turnout than last years election. With 730 votes, Nicole Kent and Katie Schultis will be taking over as UNK’s student leadership come transition. In an effort to keep these elections fair and transparent, Student Government announced that 13 duplicate votes were cast. These ballots would not have had an effect on Student Body President and Vice President, but did pose a problem for the College of Business and Technology. A new election for the College will be held Monday and Tuesday.
