Wanting to be home with my dog is what I look forward to most days. It’s said that dogs are a person’s best friend and I completely agree. Their loyalty, companionship and unconditional love makes them a part of families.
Their playful nature brings joy and laughter, reminding one to enjoy the simple pleasures life has to offer.
My dogs love to cuddle with me and show affection when I need it the most. Whether I am having a good or bad day, my dogs are wagging their tail no matter what. The love between a person and a dog is the best thing to have.
The way dogs can sense emotions is amazing because they know when someone is going through a difficult time and are there to comfort them. Whether lying beside or nudging at someone’s nose, dogs realize what is needed in that moment.
Especially in college, a dog’s presence can bring calmness and security to someone to show they are there for them.
Loyalty is one of the best traits a dog can have because it shows they are devoted to an owner. Their devotion to one is unmatched because it creates a deep sense of trust and respect. In college, it can be hard to find friends the first few years, but dogs are there every day to show love. This leads to forming a lifelong friendship.
Playfulness is a key quality of having a good dog. Adventures with them are fun because they show that they want to play and are up for anything. I like to go out with my dogs to the park or for a walk because they are always energetic, playful and ready to have some fun.
Educating a dog teaches responsibility and routine. It can be harder to train them because of school but I know it will be rewarding. I know that dogs are intelligent and seeing how mine respond to my commands created an even better bond between us.
It is OK to get help from a professional because school and homework can be a plateful – that is exactly what I did. I needed a little bit of help with my dog’s reactive behavior and the professional showed me guidance in how to handle it.
Educating them is the best thing I could do for myself and them, even though it comes with a lot of patience and time.
Every dog has a unique personality that sets them apart. Whether that be a quirky habit, like jumping off the walls or showing affection, they add personality to families.
These types of habits can create memories and laughter for everyone to share.
One of my dog’s quirky habits is when I take him on a car ride, he bites the air. My other dog is very affectionate toward anyone. When my nephew fell and started crying, my dog came up to him and licked up all his tears. I’ll always remember that.
Dogs enrich lives in countless ways, providing comfort and companionship. I see them more as family than pets. The bond between us holds a special place in my heart. A dog is only here for half of someone’s life, but we are there for all of theirs.
