The Loper Programming Activities Committee held a decades-themed trivia night Feb. 26. Contestants answered questions about history and pop culture from 1960-2010.
Students showed their competitive side at the LPAC trivia night and created a fun environment in the Ponderosa Room in the Nebraskan Student Union.
“My favorite part of LPAC events is how willing people are to participate,” said Olivia Koenig, the LPAC co-president. “They think it’s fun, and I just like hearing everyone supporting everyone. I especially like when everyone laughs together.”
Other LPAC trivia themes in the past have been Christmas and general trivia. These events are held on campus and create a sense of community among students in an environment that’s more relaxed than a classroom setting.
“I think LPAC events bring students together through engaging good student life in general,” said LPAC co-president Bailey Gittler. “Not only are you going to these events with your friends, but you could also meet other UNK students there, do other activities with them and get to know them better. ”
The teams that came in first and second place were Go Lopes whose members were Truman Lauck, Alyssa Hartman and Dawson Jurado and the Gold Team which consisted of Phoebe Dunbar, Jordan Loseke and Rishav Srivastava. Two tie-breaking questions were asked before Go Lopes were claimed as the victors.
LPAC will hold a 5K Fun Run from 9-10 a.m. on April 24.
